Appeals Court Rejects Ehrenfelds Bid to Block and Libel Tourism

The New York Court of Appeals has ruled that New York courts lack jurisdiction to allow a case brought by author Rachel Ehrenfeld against Saudi businessman Khalid Bin Mahfouz to go forward. Ehrenfeld filed suit in 2005, asking that a New York court issue a decalatory judgment making a libel ruling issued by a U.K. against her and her book, Funding Evil, unenforceable in the U.S.
