Thanksgiving Wishes

Happy Thanksgiving!

ThanksgivingThanksgiving is my favorite holiday!  Its completely secular and its only purpose is to spend the day thinking about what we are thankful for in our lives.  This is apparently a celebration as old as the Pilgrims that came over from England.  However, it did not become an actual national holiday until President Lincoln.  Here in the United States, the fourth Thursday of every November, we celebrate Thanksgiving gathered with our friends/family and feast, eating more than any other day of the year.

I believe we should spend more than just a national holiday or a tragedy thinking about the things we are thankful for.  Those of us who believe in some higher power, probably say a prayer of thanks every time we pray – “thank you [insert the name of your god here] for the blessings you’ve bestowed upon me”. BUT… I’d like to submit a challenge to you today, at the beginning of the holiday season. [read more…]
