Bobette Kyle: Dream Wedding on a Dime

by Rachel Baker on April 29, 2014

This little 204 page book is one of the most useful wedding planning books I’ve seen in a long time. Its easy to read, easy to understand, and chock-full of all sorts of tips and advice on how to throw yourself a champagne taste wedding on a small budget.

Particularly useful was the advice on what to source out and what to do on your own and how to decide which is best. There’s a ton of lists, and links to the author’s pinterest boards to help the bride figure out what needs to be done when and how to make it all happen without losing her mind.

I think this book could also lend great advice to someone planning a big party as well, if said person substitutes the wedding jargon for general party planning jargon.

In my opinion, if you are planning a wedding, it certainly wouldn’t hurt to get a copy of this book and breeze through it before doing anything else. Kyle uses a wonderful voice to explain and teach without being condescending. While it may not be the end all be all of wedding planning advice, its concise and thorough and will give you a good starting point without adding the extra stress of pointing out the magnitude of what you are trying to accomplish.
