Love Letters by Frida Kahlo

by Rachel Baker on April 16, 2015

A group of love letters written by Frida Kahlo to Spanish Artist Jose Bartoli from between 1946 -1949 have just been auctioned off for $137K. While this has very little to do with Old Musty Books, I there’s a lot to read here, and her art is pretty interesting. One of the links has a follow on link to an 11 page pdf of a synopses of the letters written by Hayden Herrera, a Kahlo biographer.

I encourage you to click through and then read through the links in the article.

Here’s the Article: My Bartoli, I don’t know how to write love letters

Frida Kahlo’s newly discovered love letters to Spanish artist Jose Bartoli. Compare and contrast with her passionate love letters to Diego Rivera.

Complement with this wonderful picture-book about Kahlo’s life of love and art.
